Welcome to the 2024-2025 U11 season!!
Hi everyone,
Thank you for registering for the upcoming 2024-2025 SMHA hockey season. My name is Brad MacDonald and I will be your U11 House League Convenor for this hockey season.
To all our returning players/families, welcome back to hockey! To all our new players (and families) to the U11 program, welcome to the SMHA family! We can't wait to meet you around the hockey rinks.
Please note, all U11 registrants have been included on these communication emails which consists of players registered for House League, the competitive programs Rep B and Silver 7. All registrants will continue to receive U11 bulk communication until the competitive tryouts have been completed, and the teams have been formed. As these teams are finalized, the distribution list will be updated to only include House League players moving forward.
The next few weeks will be divided into conditioning and evaluations sessions in order to form our teams for the season. A more detailed email will be sent out shortly for your players specific time but I wanted to share the dates/times with families to help with planning purposes.
Conditioning Sessions:
These sessions provide players with a chance to get ready for the regular season and have some fun. The sessions will have a leader and on-ice helpers assisting with the skaters to ensure that all kids are having a great time and have a fair opportunity to develop. Players will be sorted alphabetically by last name.

Evaluation Sessions (Mandatory):
These sessions are mandatory and allow us a chance to evaluate your child and place them on a team that will best fit their abilities and skills.

Volunteers
The SMHA’s success and foundation is built on the awesome volunteers within our community. We have many spots to be filled on the ice and off the ice.

Off ice Volunteers - If you are interested in helping out or have a high school student looking for volunteer hours, we can definitely use your help. We will need help with checking players in, handing out pinnys, easy admin stuff. Please reach out.
Friend requests
Players are allowed to submit one friend request which must be reciprocated by the ‘friend’ and within the same level to be considered. All efforts will be made during the draft to honour the friend requests, but they cannot be guaranteed.
