Peewee B2 Benchwarmers are tournament Champions in Russell!!!

The Benchwarmers started off strong on Friday night with a 5-0 win over Orleans Rush at the Russell Minor Hockey House League Tournament, thanks to a relentless forecheck and sound defensive play from the entire team.  A special shout out to our goaltender, Liam, who obtained his first shutout of the season.  With two more strong performances in each of the round robin games, the boys sat at the top of their pool and were off to the finals against EPR Fusion on Sunday afternoon.  After giving up the first goal of the game, the Benchwarmers pushed back to secure a 2-1 lead after the first period.  The boys never looked back, kept the pressure on and finished the game with a 7-2 win over a strong team from EPR (Eastern Prescott/Russell).  
 
Contributions from each and every player while buying in to the "team-first" approach made the difference this weekend.  Congratulations to all of the boys on their first tournament win of the season!
