Peewee A2 Mighty Pucks Win the Andy McGarvey Memorial Classic in Napanee

2017-11-28

A perfect record! The Stittsville Peewee A2 Mighty Pucks are the proud Champs of the 2017 Andy McGarvey Tournament held in Napanee! The team competed with respect and won all their games without conceding a single goal. What a truly amazing experience for the Pucks both on and off the ice!

On the weekend of November 17-19th, the Stittsville Peewee Mighty Pucks travelled to Napanee to play in the Andy McGarvey Memorial Classic.

On Friday the Mighty Pucks played two games which they won convincingly: 3-0 against the Belleville Bulls and 5-0 against the Kanata Savages.  Based on the strength of their opening day play, the Mighty Pucks clinched first place in their pool round robin and earned a direct entry into the Championship game on Sunday.

The team had Saturday off but spent the day on important team bonding activities like swimming, bowling, going to the movies and playing laser tag.

The Mighty Pucks played in their Final on Sunday afternoon.  Standing between the Mighty Pucks and the trophy was another Kanata team called the Celery Stalks.  Any concern about losing momentum because of having a hockey-free Saturday was soon erased.  In a fast-paced game, with action at both ends of the ice, the goalies stole the show.   At the end of regulation, the Mighty Pucks had prevailed 1-0.  It was a great team effort!

Congratulations to the players - Cameron B, Cameron G, Cedric, Ethan, Gareth, Hudson, Jason, Kaleb, Malachi, Marc-André, Mark, Paxton, Samuel, Spencer, Trent, Trevor and William.
