Peewee A2 Mighty Pucks win the 2017-2018 LCMHL Playoffs!

2018-03-30

The Stittsville Peewee A2 Mighty Pucks won the LCMHL League Playoffs with an exciting win in a hard-fought series that went three games against Stittsville A1.

It did not take very long for this group of incredible young athletes to bond and start playing as a team. Early in the season, the Mighty Pucks won the Andy McGarvey Memorial Classic in Napanee without conceding a single goal against for the entire tournament. The Mighty Pucks dominance continued until their longest undefeated streak of the season came to an end during the Bell Capital Cup; throughout this run, the Mighty Pucks went undefeated for 18 games and posted 10 shutouts.  The team consistently played well throughout the whole season; winning second place at Jay Peak and narrowly missing out on the LCMHL regular season banner – coming in second by one point. The Mighty Pucks kept a positive attitude, vowed to avenge their second-place finish by winning the playoffs and managed to achieve their goal.

With at least two more tournament games remaining, the Mighty Pucks’ 2017-2018 hockey record is an awesome 34-8-3 in 45 games. The team’s statistics are impressive:  3.50 goals for versus 1.18 goals against per game. The team also notched 17 shutouts. More importantly, the Mighty Pucks competed with intensity and respect all year long – even at practices.

Congratulations to the players - Cameron B, Cameron G, Cedric, Ethan, Gareth, Hudson, Jason, Kaleb, Malachi, Marc-André, Mark, Paxton, Samuel, Spencer, Trent, Trevor, William and coaches - Chris, John, Paul and Rich.  We are very proud of your accomplishments this season.
