Hi SMHA Hockey Families,
Hope you are keeping well as we continue to navigate through the current situation.
First & foremost, thank you to all of our front line workers who have been battling in an effort to keep our families safe from harm. Your hard work, personal sacrifices & resilience are greatly appreciated and we thank you for your dedication in this fight.....WE THANK YOU...!!!
By now we should have opened registration and well on our way to planning the 2020/21 Hockey season.....However despite this uncertainty, our SMHA Executive are working tirelessly to get our players back on the ice..!!!!
A collective effort by Hockey Canada, Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) & our District have been working on a multiple phased approach to the game. We have a number of task force teams & working groups that are helping us prepare for a safe return to play. These groups have been analyzing areas such as health & safety, transitional regulations from the Province/City, and a review of our programs that will allow coaches, parents & players to return to the rink safely..!!!
We recognize that Hockey is a sport that brings our community together & we want nothing more than to see the puck drop in our rinks. "This is not a race to get us back on the ice FIRST, it’s a race to get it done RIGHT...!!!”
As we continue to plan, we are soliciting your interest in returning to hockey next season. If you can kindly take a few minutes to answer the attached survey it would greatly help us in putting together our best intentions for next year.
