“Rock out 4 Jack” at the Year End house tournament!

2022-03-21

On April 1-3 SMHA will be hosting a house tournament for many of the association levels.

SMHA Families,

On April 1-3 SMHA will be hosting a house tournament for many of the association levels. In conjunction with the tournament 2 events will be taking place at JLA. SMHA will be accepting food bank donations to help with the efforts of the Stittsville food cupboard. Donations can be dropped off at JLA at any point over the weekend placed in the large donation boxes provided. They will be collected on Sunday evening and delivered on behalf of the Stittsville minor hockey association families.

The second event will be a fundraiser in support of Jack Brown. Most Stittsville residents don’t know Jack Brown by name, however have likely seen or heard “Rock out 4 Jack”. Jack was born in June of 2009 with many severe disabilities and life-limiting conditions. He is medically fragile and requires 24-hour nursing care. Jack was born with an uncommon syndrome named CHARGE. This syndrome is the leading cause of blind-deafness in children.  Jack is deaf, with some vision impairment. Please take a moment and head over to his page to read Jacks and his family’s story, https://rockout4jack.org/home/about/ and https://www.facebook.com/rockout4jack/

The SMHA will be showing community support in conjunction with the Rock out 4 Jack foundation by hosting a fundraiser over the weekend at JLA. We will have volunteers selling our used stock of Rams jerseys for a donation to the Rock out 4 Jack foundation. All proceeds will be donated on behalf of the SMHA families. There will also be a guitar raffle and access to some amazing sports memorabilia that can be purchased. For any questions please reach out to Rick Slobodian, Director of U15,U18 at http://directorhouseu15u18@stittsvilleminorhockey.com/
