Did you know.....Competitive Hockey Boundries.

2022-08-16

Did you know Hockey Canada has boundaries, ensuring players register and play hockey in their residential association and there is a formal process and approval that is required to play outside your area?

Did you know Hockey Canada has boundaries, ensuring players register and play hockey in their residential association.  Check out the HEO boundry tool to see where your player should register.

For competitive hockey, Hockey Eastern Ontario policies are very specific about the circumstances and processes that allow players to play outside of their boundary.
  1. Players must first try out and be released from the home association competitive try out process at which ever level they wish to play at.
  2. No player may attend a try out, or any other on-ice activity, with another District or Association, unless a tryout approval or transfer for that player has been approved by the Association President (inside district), or by the District Chairperson (outside District).
  3. This season Stittsville Minor Hockey will process release requests for players wishing to tryout for a Rep B competitive team outside of SMHA, after each competitive team is finalized.

If you would like clarification or more details, please read regulation 14 here: http://www.hockeyeasternontario.ca/docs/6.49%20HEO%20Hockey%20Policy%20(Minor).pdf

The in-boundry competitive teams for SMHA are Ottawa Valley Titans AAA, Ottawa Valley Silver Seven AA/A and Stittsville RAMS Rep B.
