Hope everyone had a great summer & enjoyed time with your family & loved ones..!!!
On behalf of our SMHA executive, I would like to welcome back all new & returning families to our program. It's officially Hockey season and we are so excited to return to the rink.!!
We are anticipating that hockey will be back to normal after a couple of hard seasons due to COVID & our goal is to provide the best hockey experience for our members. We think it's going to be an amazing year.
Our Executive have been working hard over the past few months to make sure that we are ready to bring us all back to the game we love. The ice is in at JLA, schedules have been posted to our website, and our people in place!! We are ready for YOU.!!!!
To our Volunteers, THANK YOU for everything you do.!! The last few years have been a difficult one & we cannot thank you enough for your time, dedication, & support in putting smiles on our players' faces.
To our Parents, THANK YOU for putting your trust in our volunteers. It can be a fulltime job managing our kids' social calendars but we really appreciate everything you do before, during & after hockey..!!!
To our Players, We cannot wait to see you back at the rink... This is your year..!!!!
We are always looking for volunteers and there are many opportunities to help both on and off the ice. SMHA will provide training and resources to assist you. Reach out to your convenor or any member of our Executive & we will help get you started.
It is our plan to increase communication with you throughout the season & we will do my best to keep everyone up to date with the goings on of the organization.
In closing, a fellow hockey Dad sent me a podcast titled, "3 things to say to your kids before they step on the ice". The content may vary between individuals, but the message is clear for all levels in minor hockey.
Parents, as our players hit the ice this weekend please remind them of three things.
1) Your family will love you no matter what happens on the ice.!
2) Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work.!
3) Be a great teammate today.!
