Competitive Novice Rep B Parent Information

NOVICE REP B

For the 2012-2013 season the Ottawa B League which is a Tier III league will include Novice for the first time in the Ottawa area.  For the RAMS Competitive Club, this team will be for major aged players only (8 year olds). 

If your child should make this team they should expect to touch the ice approx 130 times in the 2012-2013 hockey season.  They may practice at the GRC, SCC and Bell Sensplex.  As this point, the RAMS organization does not know how many other associations have chosen to put a novice team into the B League, but that number should be known later in August and at that time the # of games your child will play will also be known.  It is important that you be aware that their games could be played as far away as Blackburn Hamlet or even Metcalfe and possibly played as early as 5 pm during the weekday. Given that your children are 8 years old, their games must be scheduled earlier. 

If your child makes the RAMS Novice Rep B team, the fee to play will be an additional $600 on top of what you paid to SMHA and your child’s team may also ask you for a team fee which could be as high as $400.  Also, your child’s team may enter into approximately 5 or 6 tournaments with the likelihood of 2 of them being out of town.  This will require an additional cost to you with the need for hotel rooms, meals, gas, etc.
