The Stittsville Peewee Vipers won their third straight tournament last weekend by winning the A side of the Cobden Peewee tournament. The Vipers started off with a big win in the first game, beating Barry’s Bay by a score of 9 to 1. Alex Usak led the offensive attack with a hat trick.The second game was a much tougher match for the Peewee Vipers as they faced an opponent from Rockland. Stittsville was clinging to a 1-0 lead for the majority of the game, when Lucas Quattrocchi provided some insurance by scoring with just over 2 minutes left. Rockland pulled their goalie in the final minute and the Vipers sealed the win with an empty netter.
The team saved its best game of the tournament for the final one where they faced a solid team from Renfrew. The Vipers controlled the play for the majority of the game with some great passing and forecheking on their way to a 5-1 tournament win. The coaches commented that this was one of the team’s best all round games this year!
