We are Looking for New Officials

2013-07-21

The new hockey season is coming up fast. Every year we look to add new officials to our Association.

Officiating gives you a whole new perspective on hockey.  Whatever your goals, the officiating program has something to offer you:
  • Great way to stay involved in the game after ending a playing/coaching career
  • Excellent way to get extra exercise or stay active in the winter months
  • A fun part-time job that offers advancement opportunities – A great alternative to working in retail or fast food
  • A great hobby which allows you to meet new friends, see different towns, and see some great hockey first-hand
Here are some steps you should take to earn your stripes:
  1. Decide if officiating really is for you.  Officiating is fun, but it isn’t for everyone.  Are you ready for the challenge?  Do you know what costs are involved?  Are you ready to make the time commitment?
  1. Contact the Referee-In-Chief with the following information (below) We will then be conducting on-ice evaluations and off-ice interviews as part of the selection process in late August.
  1. Once selected you will need to register for a certification clinic.  There are fees associated with this step.
  1. Once you have attended a clinic, contact the Referee-In-Chief again so that we know you have obtained your certification.
