STITTSVILLE BACONATORS WIN NEPEAN HOUSE ATOM B TOURNAMENT

The tournament started on Friday with an 8-2 win over the Blackburn Stingers.  Saturday saw the Baconators beat the Ottawa Centre Bandits 7-1 and the Nepean Ice Dogs 7-0.  Even with the snowstorm Saturday night, we had all 15 boys show up for the semi-final game against the Canterbury Crusaders.  The semi-final game was the closest game of the tournament for us and we led 2-0 at the midway point of the game until the Crusaders came charging back at us.  They scored a goal to make it 2-1, but due to some amazing saves by our goalie and some timely play by our defense, we were able to hold them off.  We scored an empty net goal to ice the game and send us to the finals.   An excellent effort by all!
