Ice Hawks @ North Dundas Minor Hockey Association Novice House Tournament

2014-01-22

On Friday, January 10, 2014, the Stittsville Ice Hawks added their sticks and spirit to the annual North Dundas Minor Hockey Association Novice House Tournament. Playing their hearts out, the team showed drive and persistence, not to mention their “Stittsville swag”.

After a hard fought first battle demonstrating the evolution of their offensive and defensive skills, the team took over a local restaurant for pizza and pop. By stopping the tournament advancement of the Glens in a nail-biting, old-fashion barn-burning second game, the Ice Hawks refused to back down, kept pressing and showed that they can perform well regardless of the circumstances.

Whether it was taking a day off from school, the unexpected goal from behind the center line, eating at a diner's counter and twirling on the stools, or the timbits (and coffee) at the end of the last game, the experiences of the day add to the memories of this exceptional hockey road trip.

Thanks to all of the Ice Hawk parents, coaches, and trainers. Without you the boys would not being having the awesome season that they are. Thanks also to all Ice Hawks siblings - the enthusiasm you give to your brothers and their team mates is inspirational.

GO ICE HAWKS GO!
