Hi everyone,

Thank you for registering for the upcoming 2023-2024 SMHA hockey season. My name is Richard Hogue and I will be your U13 Convenor for this hockey season. My son Grayson is in his 7th season with SMHA, so I've probably crossed paths with some of you over the years.

To all of our returning players/families, Welcome back to SMHA hockey! To all of our new players/families, welcome to the SMHA family! We can't wait to meet you around the rinks.

All U13 registrants have been included on this communication which consists of players registered for House League and all three Competitive Programs. All registrants will continue to  receive U13 bulk communication until the competitive tryouts have been completed, and the teams have been formed. As these teams are finalized, the distribution list will be updated to only include House League players moving forward.

This distribution list is created based on the email address provided at registration. If there are other email addresses that need to be added for bulk communication, please let me know.

Our next few weeks will be divided into conditioning and evaluations sessions in order to form our teams for the season. Below you will find the schedule for our conditioning sessions which start on Sunday September 3rd. Please be sure to check in at the registration table so we can take note of attendance for all sessions.

Conditioning Sessions (total of 4):

These sessions provide players with a chance to get ready for the regular season and have some fun. The sessions will have a leader and on-ice helpers assisting with the skaters to ensure that all kids are having a great time and have a fair opportunity to develop. Players have been sorted alphabetically by last name as follows:

Volunteers

The SMHA’s success and foundation is built on the awesome volunteers within our community. We have many spots to be filled on the ice and off the ice at the registration desk. If you are available to help on ice or you have an older child that is looking for volunteer hours, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Evaluations (Sort Outs)

I will send out an email regarding evaluation dates as we get a little closer to those dates.  Plan for them to start on Sunday September 17, 2023.
