New to Hockey Canada – First-Time Players
This information is for players who have never played in another association previously. If you are unsure whether you already have a Hockey Canada Account, please contact the registrar at registrar@stittsvilleminorhockey.com.
You can create a new Hockey Canada account through the registration link and then proceed to complete your player registration.
During the setup of a new profile, you will be required to upload the following documents. Your registration will not be accepted without them.
- Proof of Age — Birth certificate or passport. A Health Card is not acceptable.
- Proof of Residency — Natural Gas bill, City of Ottawa Water invoice (amount may be blacked out), home lease agreement (renters), or agreement of purchase/sale. Driver’s Licenses and Health Cards are not acceptable.
Important Notes
- Your registration with SMHA cannot be confirmed until all forms are completed correctly, online registration is complete, and payment is received.
- Respect in Sport (RIS) Parent Program — Before your child’s registration is finalized, one parent must complete the RIS online course. Further information can be found here.
- Please note that submitting an application and registering online does not guarantee a roster spot. Players registered on or before July 15, 2026 are guaranteed placement, assuming there are enough players in the division to form a team.
